Inspired by the volcanic landscapes of Iceland.
Form: The cube establishes the architectural foundation.
Stability: Introducing a timber organic structure, enhancing the architectural stability, and complement the volcano form.
Integration: Evolving into a glass-covered volcano, blends Icelandic landscape with the functionality of a greenhouse-restaurant.
Functional Zones: The ground floor as the restaurant space, one spiral hosts plantery, and the other an observation tower, creating functional zones within the space.
Charred is a greenhouse restaurant in Iceland shaped by the contours of a volcano. The structure boasts a sleek cone shape, accentuated by a glass curtain wall that offers panoramic views of the Icelandic landscape. The building’s functional layout includes a kitchen in the basement, a restaurant, bar, and services area on the ground floor, and a suspended spiral greenhouse planetary for an immersive dining experience. A central observation tower crowns the design, providing patrons with a commanding view of the surroundings. This project seamlessly integrates modern design with the natural beauty of Iceland, offering a unique and professional architectural solution.
